Dr Ma obtained his Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Sheffield, UK. His primary research focuses on the history of ideas about English (Tudor period) and translation studies, and he has published multiple papers in internationally recognised journals. At STU he mainly teaches translation courses and supervises students in linguistics and translation studies at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
