Profile:
Sohani has 21 years of experience teaching EFL, ESL, ESP and Voice, Accent & Speech Training (VAST) to students from multi-cultural and multi-lingual backgrounds.
To continually upgrade her education, she completed two TESOL specializations, a Teaching Methodology Course, Experienced Teachers Training Course and Teaching Phonology Course, among other courses completed with distinction.
She worked with NGOs like HelpAge & CRY, contributing to their Creative Writing Department. She was actively involved with charitable organizations like Rotary International and Inner Wheel, where she gave voluntary service as a teacher.
In 2012, Sohani introduced a facility at CILL, Speech and Presentation Studio, which has proved to be very popular among students. She conducts the Creativity and Conversation Activity at ELC. She is good at organizing programmes and stage shows, focus being the all-round development of her students.
Sohani has deep passion for teaching. She strongly believes that a teacher’s expertise and enthusiasm can inspire a student to scale great heights. Therefore, she tries her best to constantly encourage and motivate students to excel at National/International competitions and strive for perfection in her Voice & Accent Training and ELC Level Courses.
Her ongoing research lies in the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in English Language Teaching (ELT) in the EFL/ESL classroom, with Task Based Language Teaching (TBLT) and Task Based Learning (TBL) as her research interests.
